Responsible Travel Manifesto
When we travel we have an impact on the territory we visit and we believe there’s a chance to do tourism the right way.
People are more and more aware of the negative and positive effects that they can have slow and responsible travel principles. . People who travel with us come back knowing that you made a little difference.
To do so we apply a policy that is suited to your specific business
Our aim is to reduce the negative and increase the positive impacts on our company’s operational practices have on the social and physical environment within the areas we operate in. This adds value to the quality product we already offer.
We want you to feel welcomed and have your space to express yourself and to familiarize with local people. For this reason services are organized on a private basis or in small groups of maximum 16 people and often even less.
You will not invade a territory but rather enter it with all your female kindness. You will have the right time to get to know places, by getting in touch with the locals, savoring genuine tastes and scents and letting yourself be amazed by
small glimpses of unexpected beauty.
You will be offered experiences and recharging moments away from the daily chores. Our tours will leave you with the feeling of having done something for you and having created real-life connections that go beyond the journey.
Economic Responsibility
We believe that creating shared values can make a difference. Our commitment is to get the local community involved by choosing providers that have the same vision and are enthusiastic supporters of what we do.That’s the perfect recipe to give our clients an engaging and successful travel experience.
We are in love with remote areas, micro-enterprises, family run activities, local artists and artisans with a special attention to supporting women-run businesses.
Environmental Responsibility
We select small scale boutique hotels, B&B and country relais that are attentive to sustainability by recycling, using km0 products and adopting plastic free policy.
Where possible we privilege the use of trains to move around and in those areas where there’s lack of public means we encourage the electric car rental.
Excursions are mostly offered as walking/cycling options and led by local guides. We privilege providers that carry on sustainable projects such as a 100% eco-farm in Portofino Natural park: where once there was an abandoned land there are now honey bees, vineyards, olive trees, butterfly gardens all self-sustainable.
Social Responsibility
Are you afraid that Italy is an inflated choice for your tour? Our aim is to offer itineraries beyond clichès.
Italy has always something to say: besides the most iconic sites there’s an entire world of hidden gems, real-life connections and authentic people to discover. Those who travel with us come back and say how nice it is to re-evaluate it and see it with all-female eyes.
By supporting family-run businesses, artisans and small scale producers we give our contribution to enhance our territory, especially in less known areas. So in our tours you can learn about the secular art of gold leaf gilding from Marco- a master artisan in Genoa – who restores ancient frames and furniture in his family laboratory, or meet Friar-pharmacist Enzo in the ancient convent of Sant’anna Custodian of centuries-old experience and tradition, handed down “from Father to Father” since 1650.
As women we also want to encourage and support female owned businesses especially here in Italy – where our role is still shrouded in prejudice.
We believe emancipation goes also through economic independence and possibility to succeed.
For this reason we have selected some local projects run by women pioneers: meet Donatella who created a 100% women winery in Tuscany; Cristina -the owner of a small farm in Lessinia mountains who started her adventure with the autochthonous breed of Brogna Sheep that has been at risk of extinction; Annalisa – who carried out her dream by creating a cooking school in the small village of Favara, in Sicily.
